Shan Kothari
Shan is a Postdoctoral Researcher with Dr. Alain Paquette and Dr. Eric Searle at the Centre d'étude de la forêt at Université du Québec à Montréal. Shan's research focuses on the physiological mechanisms that underlie species interactions (both competitive and facilitative) and ecosystem function in temperate forests. He is also interested in improving methods for rapid trait estimation using reflectance spectra and in characterizing the major dimensions of spectral variation for use in ecological monitoring. He received his PhD in 2020 with Jeannine Cavender-Bares at University of Minnesota and subsequently conducted a post doc at the University of Montréal in Québec as part of the Canadian Biodiversity Observatory (CABO).
