Ruqi Yang
Ph.D. student,
Ruqi is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Forest and Wildlife Ecology, University of Wisconsin-Madison. Before starting her doctoral work, she developed modeling approaches using satellite-based products to estimate GPP. As a doctoral student, she is exploring her passion for Land-Atmosphere Interactions, Ecosystem Function, Imaging Spectroscopy, and Deep Learning. Currently, her research focuses on leveraging traits extracted from imaging spectroscopy to inform variation in gross primary production and net ecosystem exchange from flux towers.
Ruqi’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Atmospheric Sciences, which she earned from Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, respectively. Beyond her academic pursuits, she enjoys spending time with her friends, working out, and savoring the heat of spicy cuisine.
