Steven Augustine
Steven is a Postdoctoral Associate at the Department of Ecology, Evolution and Behavior of the University of Minnesota and Harvard University. His interests in understanding the evolution and community assembly of major plant radiations, including the pines, oaks and proteas. His work combines plant ecophysiology, biogeographic history and botany.
He is currently involved in projects on adaptive differentiation in bur oak populations and adaptive radiation of the Proteas in South Africa using spectral biology. He is passionate about plants and people. A native of North Carolina, he received his Master’s degree from the University of Idaho and his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
