Ting is a Postdoc at the Environmental Spectroscopy Laboratory headed by Prof. Philip A. Townsend in University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is interested in plant functional traits—chemical and physical aspects of plants—their variation, and their interactions with the environments. In particular, my research branches into following directions: 1. predicting plant functional traits using imaging spectroscopy and generating reliable trait maps at the regional scale; 2. studying the variation and its biotic/abiotic drivers of the functional traits. I hope these studies could help us better understand how the plants respond to different environmental conditions and shed light on how they may react to future climate changes.
