Dawson White

Postdoctoral Research Fellow, National Science Foundation

Ree Lab, Field Museum

Dawson is a plant systematist and taxonomic expert of the Coca family of plants. He studies how variation in leaf spectral reflectance is related to genetic variation and uses spectroscopy to classify leaves into taxonomic groups and reconstruct the evolutionary history of plant phenotypes and function. A special focus of his research is leveraging reflectance spectra from herbarium specimens. He is currently a postdoc at the Field Museum in Chicago.
